A hardcover first edition, first printing of Hilaire Belloc's account of a trip though the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Shoreham, with comments and thoughts on the places onshore along the way. Belloc was a competent sailor and traveller, and a prodigious writer.
This book is the closest Belloc ever came to autobiography. Ostensibly , Belloc is recording a sea journey made around the coast of Britain, but the occasion gives rise to many memories from his own past. In addition to these reminiscences, the book also filled with his penetrating analysis of Europe and the world in the 1920s.
