Two hardcover volumes , illustrated , in a matching slipcase. These are the Macmillan UK editions, published in this version in 1996, in a Ted Smart/book People slipcase and printings, original £stg price was £25.
Condition - the white slipcase is bumped at the corners, and shows light creasing. Colour fade from sunning to the ( slipcase ) ends.
The two books internally are in good condition, one blue one purple, uniform editions, with light softening to corners. One or two corners internally were turned down at some stage and show angled creases. External covers show light indentations and ghost marks from writing ( but no inscriptions or writing visible on the books themselves)
These edition use the original John Tenniel illustrations, which were hugely instrumental in creating the now commonly viewed look of Alice and the various creations she meets - The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat and the Queen of hearts. These had colour added at various stages, ( initially in 1911 and later by Diz Wallis foe the 1996 editions , and subsequently in this edition in 1998 for Ted Smart) .
A solid illustrated set of
