Product Description
Mervyn Ennis was born in Tallaght in 1950 and now lives in Saggart. He has a long record of working with and supporting Travellers and it is to them that this book is in tribute. Theses stories of Traveller life in the 1960's and early 70s are crafted as fiction but yet they ring true. They are appropriately illustrated by Alen MacWeeney’s evocative black and white photos.
Light edgewear, scratch to teh back cover, there is a full index of photographs, stating when and where they were taken - most are from the mid to late 1960's , with a large proportion taken in Cherry Orchard , Kylemore and Labre Park. The quality of the photographs is striking, as was the appalling living situation for many travellers at the time .
