The annual journal by the Irish Folklore Society - Béaloideas, here in the 1958 edition, concentrating on the folklore of and agricultural practices connected with furze ( or whins, or Aiteann as Gaeilge) - every aspect of the role teh plant played - from a botanical and historical perspective - fir fuel, fodder, manure, roofing, dyeing, in custom and belief, in folklore, , as a widespread plant with a large number of domestic and agricultural use.
This is a former ( adademic? ) library copy, but the only marks of this are the remnants of a library date label which was glued ( rather badly) to the title page. , no labels, date stamps etc, no inscriptions. Creases and edgewear to teh plain tan paper covers.
