Architect and theatregoer Joseph Holloway (1861-1944), who redesigned the Abbey Theatre for its opening in 1904, donated a vast collection of material to the National Library. Holloway was a well known Dublin figure of his day, attending every theatre performance in the city and joining every society connected with the theatre.
