Three hardcover fisrt editions, all published in uniform editions by Gollancz SF Uk, all with cover art by Chris Brown.
The Land and Overland trilogy is a group of three science fiction ( with elemnts that are also more fantasy) novels by Northern Ireland born author Bob Shaw
The trilogy consists of the books The Ragged Astronauts ( 1986), The Wooden Spaceships (1988) and The Fugitive Worlds (1989). In the UK, all three novels were originally published by Gollancz - this listing is for three first editions. The Ragged Astronauts won the BSFA award for best SF Novel in 1987.
The setting for the trilogy is a pair of planets, Land and Overland, which orbit about a common centre of gravity, close enough to each other that they share a common atmosphere.
All three novels are undamaged, unmarked, some light tanning to the page block, , not price clipped , not ex library or book club editions.
This trilogy is that rare thing in SF - a very original concept, part steampunk , part low tech fantasy. Shaw was a unique voice in SF, and one of Irish writing's underappreciated stars.
