Product Description
This is the true story of how 8 bold Irish fishermen rescued the survivors of a Swedish ship that was torpedoed by a German U-boat off the west coast of Ireland. On the night of August 9th 1940 U-30 sank the Swedish ship Canton as it made its way to Liverpool. In gale force winds and treacherous seas the fishermen put out in a 22 foot open skiff to save the lives of the remainder of the crew from certain death as they were driven toward the cliffs of Sligo.
