Product Description
Dan Donnelly may be one of the most famous Irish people you've never heard of - born the 9th son ( of a family of 17) he started his career as a prizefighter in Ireland and England in the 1810's . Legends surrounded him - that he had the longest arms of any boxer in history ( thus affording him an incredible advantage and reach in punching)
He set up several bars, fought across the country and was undefeated, was apparently the subject of an honorary knighthood by King George III, and died young at the age of 32. After his death, his grave was robbed and one of his arms ended up in a display case in a bar in Kildare, and went 'on tour' to New York in 2006.
Part of the Curragh of Kildare is named Donnelly's Hollow where he held some of his more notable fights.
