A hardcover first edition, co-published by Dolmen Press Dublin and the Oxford University Press ( this being the Dolmen 'variant' edition) 1974. The poet had died in 1974, but ahd completed the selection and ordering of the poems, as well as revising a number of his early works.
Condition - book - very good, as new condition, solid in red cloth covers, titles in gold and black to spine.
Condition - dustjacket - good, darkening to spine, small closed tears and bumps to the tan coloured dustjacket, which is now in a clear plastic removable jacket protector.

Austin Clarke, born 1896, was one of the leading Irish poets in the generation after W. B. Yeats. His first book of poetry was published in 1917, his last in 1971. In a writing life spanning much of the twentieth century, he wrote over twenty books of poetry as well as plays and novels.
