Product Description
Best remembered for his tragic fate during the Irish Civil War, Rory O’Connor was in fact one of the most indispensable IRA leaders in the fight for Irish freedom in early twentieth-century Ireland. He had several key roles in the revolutionary movement, the IRA’s Director of Engineering, a mastermind of prison escapes of prominent Irish republicans, overseeing operations in Britain, as well as being an important background player in the operations of Dáil Éireann and Sinn Féin. He was also employed as a Civil Engineer by Dublin Corporation.
