A full reproduction of a select number of 'Congested District ' reports from teh west of Irealnd, documenting poverty and social conditions in the early 1890's, as reported on by visiting inspectors. The language used is matter of fact, detailed and observant. Aso known as 'baseline reports', these were carried out in ( rural) areas of Donegal, Leitrim, sligo Mayo, Roscommon, Galway , Kerry and Cork .
With maps, population charts, period photographs etc, and a detailed introduction by the editor.
Condition - internally very good, unmarked. The dustjacket ( which is white in the main, shows edgewear, a curl to the upper edge and bumping to corners. Some fecker has also scribbled on the upper front corner with a black sharpie ( visible in photo) . However, this is external only, no marks internally.
