Product Description
A history (from a mid 1980's perspective) of the huge range of counter insurgency wars the British army were involved in as their Empire steadily declined after the Second World Wr.
Many of these are now little remembered, but some have cast a longer shadow - Kenya, Palestine and Northern Ireland being the obvious ones. Other campaigns were brief and unsuccesful - in Malaya and other forgotten campoaigns such as that in Dhofar and general campains in Southern Arabia .
Dewar served in Northern Ireland in 1974 , and the view of the conflict ( and events such as Bloody Sunday) is as a reader would expect .
Small closed tear to lower corner of dustjacket.
