Leon ó Broin was born in dublin in 1902, a schoolboy at teh time ogf teh 1916 rising, he afterwards became a member of Sinn Féin and the Gaelic league, he joined the Civil Service, acting as Undersercretary to Ernest Blythe, an later Secretary to Dept of Post & Telegraphs. He was also a prolific author, especially on Republican history, was instrumental in teh founding of An Gúm , the establishment of RTE, and much more.
A hugely well connected individual , he could be said to have met and ineracted with almost everyone of political and publishing importance in 20th ecntury Ireland.
