Biography of Eamon De Valera, a principal leader of the Easter Rising in 1916 and later opponent of the Free State Government established in Dublin under the terms of the 1922 Anglo-Irish Treaty. A founder of Fianna Fáil, in 1932 he was elected head of the Free State government.
