A 1947 reprint of the 1940 collection of poems by the renowned British-American poet, W. H. Auden. With poems from some of his most popular books such as, 'Look, Stranger!' and 'The Dog Beneath the Skin'. W. H. Auden is known for his poems 'Funeral Blues', 'The Shield of Achilles' and 'Age of Anxiety'.
Small format hardcover, 80 pages, in plain brown tan cloth covers, with titles in red to front and spine. Lacks the original dustjacket, but internally unmarked aprt from a previous owners name on inside front enapaper, neatly, dated 1955.
This copy was signed by previous ownmer Séamus Cooney, the founder of the poetry press Black Sparrow in the USA.
