This book contains much more than did the first edition published in 1987. The number of liturgies is increased to thirty-eight, and the book now offers also Rites of Committal (for use at the gravesite or in a crematorium). Of the liturgies, some are written for specific occasions, others, being of a general nature, could fit a variety of circumstances. Six of them are Remembrance Liturgies for such occasions as the month's mind and anniversaries. Besides the liturgies, there are twenty-nine reflections, ten Prayer Services and four Rites of Committal. The first edition of this book was hailed as a " real God-send, a welcome abundance....Every circumstance, age and condition is considered.". (P.J. Brophy, parish priest) Flor McCarthy is a Salesian priest who has worked as a catechist for many years in Dublin and has extensive experience in the USA and Ireland.
