The book, a 320 page account of the life and times of the twenty one captains who led Tipperary to All-Ireland glory since 1887, was penned by Tipperary Star journalist Noel Dundon. Published by the Tipp Star 2014.
There are insightful interview with the surviving captains as they speak about each other and the impact they had on the careers of their team mates. And, there are also interviews re-printed as part of the story, with some of those captains now gone to their eternal reward, including John Maher, John Joe Callanan, Jim Lanigan, Pat Stakelum and Sean Kenny to mention just a few.
In the book, the captain of the 2010 winning team Eoin Kelly - the last captain to have won at that stage - reveals how he took many notes of how Tommy Dunne led the Premier County and to glory in 2001 and tried to follow his example in as many ways as possible.
