Product Description
The author discusses hundreds of print( and later TV) ads that appeared in Irish newspapers and on television throughout the 20th century.
This is shown well, among others changing habits: e.g. cigarette advertising in the 1960s and 1970s and exhortation to not smoke in the 1980s. Political ads are also included, as well as many ads that went on to become part of wider popular culture - Guinness surfboard ads, Kerrygold - butter the spuds Andre, Kilmeaden the fillet of Cheddar...and many more.
Large format ( folio sized) hardcover, illustrated in colour and black & white ( depending on the original ad) internally.
In very good condition.
