Life, for a worker bee, is filled with toil. The workers keep the hive clean, harvest honey, build honey comb and rear young. Thora, a young worker, wonders if there shouldn't be more to life. When she befriends some drone bees she finds that the males of the hive are preoccupied with higher things such as poetry, politics and religion. They are also idle, drunken and vain, but that's just how drones are.
