The King's Serjeants were an elite, ancient order of senior barristers in Ireland, dating from the 13th century until 1922. They held exclusive rights to plead in the Court of Common Pleas, ranked higher than Knights, and were the primary Crown legal advisors before being superseded by Queen’s Counsel.
