Jonathan SWIFT ( 1667-1745) perhaps best known for his dark satire, A Modest Proposal ( 1728) and for the classic Gulliver's Travels,( 1726) was Dean of St Patrick's Cathedral from 1713 until his death. The biography discusses his life, relationships with the enigmatic Stella, his health, colleagues and a classic body of work.
