Product Description
A collections of essays by Ciarán Bennett about the late American curator and writer, James Johnson Sweeney. Sweeney was the director of the Guggenheim Museum from 1952 to 1960, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston from 1961-68, and curated the first international modern art exhibition, ROSC (1968-1971). And yet he is underrepresented in the histories of 20th century art, and Ciarán Bennett is here to rectify this with his short volume of essays.
