William Ellis (1800–1881) was an English businessman, writer on economics, and educational thinker. He founded the London Birkbeck schools , and was an associate of John Stuart Mill.
This is the first edition, published by Trench, TRubner & Co, 1889 ( 8 years after Ellis's death)
Condition - very good, in dark blue cloth with titles in gilt to covers. THere is a crack in the binding at the front gutter, otherwise solid, internally unmarked.
