Product Description
Lonergan (1904-1984) was a Canadian Catholic theologian. He studied at the Gregorian University in Rome where he later taught. He also taught at Harvard, Toronto and Boston as well as many Jesuit seminaries. Lonergan has been compared to Thomas Aquinas, with his unique blend of the theoretical and the practical, the traditional and the modern. Whether or not he is followed, he cannot be ignored as one of the most significant of 20th-century teachers and authors. Frederick Crowe can bring to bear on this subject a unique knowledge of the man and his writings - having known Lonergan intimately, and having sole access to the complete collection of Lonergan's papers. The reader will be led through the development of an extraordinary mind by one of its leading exponents.
The "Outstanding Christian Thinkers" series provides volumes on the most influential Christian thinkers from Bede to Balthasar, by the expert scholars in each field.
