Stephen Cox, sets off to find an inspiration for his new play in some remote corners of Asia. In Bangkok he meets miss Porntip - who becomes his “bad angel” and the photographer Konstantin Vassilious - who will be the good one. Meanwhile in England his friends, Liz Headleand, Alix and Hattie Osborne go about their lives suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a package containing Steven’s notes and other materials, sent from the region of Asia where he has gone missing.
