George Bernard Shaw ( 1856-1950) , won the Nobel Prize in 1925, and lived in Hertfordshire for the later years of his life, after a youth in Dublin, with his eccentric family, the Shaws. A prolific dramatist, he was also a journalist, peace activist, a committed socialist and humourist.
John O'Donovan was an RTE journalist and broadcaster.
