Product Description
Paula Daly's cookbooks were a publishing phenomenon in the late 1970's and 1980's in Ireland - 4 were issued during the period of a decade, and were reprinted numerous times. They are some of our most sought after books on our site.
This edition was a 1990 published 'best of' in a larger format glossy A4 paperback, with the cooperation of McDonnells/ Stork ( the original publishers of the book series)
The books always had a baking focus and this 'best o' is no different - it includes her recipe for a wedding cake and Christmas cake.
Sections are - Cakes, pastry. biscuits, tea breads and scones, starters, meat dishes, stews and casseroles, poultry, pasta and pizza, fish, vegetables rice and pulses and desserts. Measurements in both Metric and US/Imperial, with full index, 140 pages. The cover design is meant to show a marbled kitchen tile effect, which means it looks as if it is stained - it is not . There is a bump and associated crease to the lower front cover corner, and a pencilled number internally.
Unusually for a period cookbook, no marks or stains apart from a small oil stain (or scorch mark?) to the lower edge of the front cover. A very good copy.
