Peter Kennedy was a folksong collector and broadcaster . This large volume includes 360 songs (with guitar chords) - and in the full range of languages - English, Cornish, Manx Gaelic, Gaeilge, Scots Gaelic, Welsh, and Channel Islands French, as well as songs in dialects from parts of the UK and Traveller songs.
All songs are given as simple monadic musical scores, with all lyrics in English or, in the case of other languages, in the original language with English translations. The Celtic language traditions songs are particularly valuable, since most of them are extremely difficult to find elsewhere.
Songa are arranged by language , and thematically - songs of courtship, false love, occupations, country life etc.
Condition - solid in large format hardcoverm, with dustjacket in folded in design over covers. THE PAGE BLOCK ENDS SHOW STAINING ( possibly from beer or stout (external only) and the page block internally is undamaged. This is a large and heavy book, which (despite it's importance) is now out of print, and rather uncommon.
