The Caighdeán Oifigiúil/Official Standard Irish was not available in time to be implemented throughout the English-Irish Dictionary at the time of its publication in 1959 and, accordingly, the spelling and grammar of the Irish versions in English-Irish Dictionary are not wholly compliant with the later Caighdeán Oifigiúil. No additional appendix was issued until 1978, which included a scattering of modern phrases and words. ( such as computer, etc, and a host of medical , business and technical terms not in common usage in 1959)
These additional entries (1978) are included at the back in a seperate section .
