Some small illustrations in text, frontis of the Cross of Cong, and with a fold-out map to the rear, a small-format hardback, a very good copy . lacks the dustjacket ( which replicated the cover design on the illustrated boards)
Ó Lochlainn abridged the text of the original edition slightly, gave the correct versions of placenames as Gaeilge, and corrected information on sites and archaeology from the original edition.
