Cork born Van Esbeck was the rugby correspondent for the Irish Times since the 1960's, and also wrote the official centenary history of the IRFU .
This is a pictorial history of the highlights in Irish rugby history, centered in particular on the 1981-82 Triple Crown, and the earlier 1948-51 wins, as well as those players who formed part of it, great names which still resonate with the general public - Moss Keane, Ollie Campbell, Fergus Slattery, Willie John McBride and many more.
