St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church in Galway, founded around 1320, is the largest medieval parish church in Ireland still in continuous use. Dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, patron saint of seafarers, it was built by Anglo-Norman settlers and served as the spiritual heart of Galway's merchant "14 Tribes".
