Published by Houghton Mifflin ( USA) 2002 , this is a slipcased, fully illustrated hardcover set of the three volumes comprising The Lord of the Rings , with interiorart and slipcase illustrated by Alan Lee .
Condition - I've seen a few of these sets where the slipcase is damaged ( the set is very heavy) but this slipcase is in excellent condition - the sole flaw is a crease ( indented, probably from shelving) on the base ( approx 5cm ) One upper corner has the laminate lifting ever so slightly. Internally, all books are in fine, as new condition - apart from some dustdarkening to the base of Volume 3 ( see photo) - possinly from a spiderweb)
This is the US 1st Illustrated edition thus, Harper Collins issued a similar UK edition.
All illustraions in colour, maps to endpages of all edition, allin uniform red cloth with titles and JRRT emblem to front covers in gilt finish. Corners sharp, no bumping. No inscriptions, etc.
