The title of the book - Hacketstown 3, refers to the ( fabulously simple) phone number the company had in less technical times, and which went unchanged for most of the early decades of their existence.
Duffys, of Hacketstown, Carlow, were a long established shop and business - the Duffy familt bought the original shop before WW1, serving Carlow and the hill country of Wicklow to the immediate east of the town, selling pork, bacon and , expanding to domestic feed, drapery and provisions, so much so that the town was nicknamed Duffystown. The business lasted and expanded, before eventually closing in 1982.
A large format hardcover, published in an unusal format with glossy ( wipeable) board pages internally, with the photos printed directly onto the background ( an effective method for printing many of the black and white large format photos.)
