The beautiful Heritage town of Abbeyleix is not just made up of bricks, mortar, and the beautiful Heritage buildings that are visible within it but must also include the people and the characters and the chancers that have lived here in the town since Viscount John de Vesci first began building this planned Estate town starting in the middle to the late 1700s. The town of Abbeyleix is rich in its history and if you want to get an insight into how some of the people lived their lives in the town going right back to the beginning you can follow the lives of the people that lived in this community right up to the present time in 2023.
