The Art of Waiting: Daily Reflections for the Advent Season
'As we embark on the waiting period that is the advent season, stretching to Christmas and a few days beyond, we'll discover why we're asked to wait, what we should be doing while we wait, and ultimately what we are waiting for. We can begin to see how God uses our everyday waiting times to parallel the journey that is our spiritual life...'
WENDY BRAY is a freelance writer, whose book "In the Palm of God's Hand" (BRF 2000), about her experience with cancer, won the Biography award in the UK 2002 Christian Book Awards. She also contributes to BRF's "Day by Day with God" Bible reading notes. She was previously based at Care for the Family where, among other projects, she worked on the parentalk parenting course and with Rob Parsons on his bestselling titles "What Every Kid..." and "The Sixty Minute Mother".
Waiting can be tedious and painful but it can also prove ttansforming and productive. There is an art to waiting well, as Wendy Bray explains with clarity, insight and practical realism. I read this book during a waiting time of my own and realized afresh that God is always worth the wait.
