Dr. Seuss is one of the most influential children's authors of all time. Through his mastery of wordplay and rhyme, he inspired the imaginations of millions of young readers, probably including most of you reading this right now.

As the legend goes, Dr. Seuss's top-seller was originally created when Bennett Cerf, the co-founder of Random House USA, bet the author $50 that he couldn't write a book using only 50 unique words or fewer. Seuss took on the challenge and ended up making one of the most instantly recognizable children's books in history- Green eggs and Ham.
