Originally published in 1957, this is a 1967 reprint ( entirely in German) of Heinrich Boll's Irisches Tagebuch ( Irish Diary) - small format paperback, published by DTV.
Previous owner's bookplate internally, otherwise unmarked.
Entirely in German. Irish Journal has helped to shape the German perception of Ireland for decades and continues to be influential. Boll spent time in Achill, and he was a keen observer of Irish rural life in the (rather grim) Ireland of the 1950's .
