Bound ( in what I'm assuming is a contem[porary or near contemporary full red morocco by James Duffy of Dublin - Duffy Binder Dublin' ( so bound by the publisher, but am assuming different bindings were available, given teh fashion at the time for differntly priced editions]. Covers are blocked in gilt and blind to a panel design, floral surrounds surrounding a crucifix in the centre. The spine divided into six panels by five raised bands, title in gilt direct in the second from the top, the remainder tooled in gilt to centre-and-corner design. (The crucifix on the back cover in the centre has lost some of the gilt)
Blank cream yellow endpages ( original) some edges at the front were stained with water at some point, a previous owner has attached page marks with some form of ( very old) adhesive tape, possibly glued paper to three pages internally.
TEXT IS ENTIRELY IN LATIN THROUGHOUT. (Just in case of doubt))
A black and white image of the crucified Jesus just before the Canon Missae section is also water stained to rear ( showing a tidemark) The blank endpages also show staining at edges, and the INSIDE rear cover shows heavy marks from soiling, candlewax and associated staining (some possibly from red wine? ) ( all external to back cover, and internal to rear blank endpages)
Very solid tight binding. no mustiness, no other damage noted OTHER THAN THE ABOVE.
