A somewhat rare set in any condition - these lack the dustkackets , but solid in binding, Internally good - no inscriptions, all b&w photograph plates are present. Frontis of a poung Collins by Lavery in Violume 1, and an image of him lying in state in colour to Volume II.
Fade to the gilt titles to spines. The binding is tight on both, but the large thick page block shows dustdarkening 9 especially to volume II. Foxing to pages internally , especially the front endpages ( of both volumes)
Volume one covers his life to 1920, Volume 2 is ocncered primarily with the War of Indepencence, The Treaty and the subsequent Civil war and death of Collins.
Piaras Beaslai (1881-1965) knew Collins personally, and was the author of this first large scale biogarphy of Michael Collins , as well as a number of other works of biography.
