A history of the historic diocese of Cashel and Emly, most of which is located in Tipperary, but with section sin adjoining counties such as Limerick and Offaly. Comprising 46 parishes, it is home to some of the most historic sites in Irish Christianity, including the Rock of cashel, and the imporatnt towns of Thurles , Holy Cross Abbey, and some remarkable buildings, such as the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles, consecrated in 1879, and built to an Italianate model.
