Rather haunting
Narrator haphazardly drifts and settles into a place that's alien to her. Her account, given in a detached tone, is mostly of mundane goings-on--certainly nothing earth-shattering happens. Very little plot, no attempt to pad out the characters and the book's atmophere is all the stronger for that.
