A Mercier Press 1976 edition of John B Keane's 1974 collection - The Letters of a Love Hungry Farmer .
Condition - small format paperback, previous owner's name on front endpages, 89 pages. Pages tanned, but binding tight.
Keane was an astute observer of the human condition, and while this book ( a series of back and forth letters) is full of wry humour, it also is full of the dark loneliness of rural isolation as well, and the two threads are woven into a deeply convincing portrait.
