Seán T, as he was universally known, had a fascinating and long life at the centre of Irish politics , eventually becoming the second president of the state, after a long career at cabinet, where he held almost every senior position apart from Taoiseach . This book details the early period of his life in Dublin, his time as a writer, as a librarian, a member of the IRB, his activities in 1916 , imprisonment in Reading jail, membership of various Irish language and cultural organisations, and knowing almost everyone - he was particularly well connected amongst the revolutionary elite in the period up to the Rising.
