Product Description
Sometimes relationships can seem quite confusing and no two will ever be the same. You might have noticed that different people seem to want different things from their relationships. Sometimes we can be coming from different places, and heading in very different directions.
Relationships can be difficult to understand because there appears to be no pattern to the chaos. But what if there was a pattern to the chaos? What if we could look at a relationship and understand where each person was coming from, and where they expected that relationship to go?
My work as a psychotherapist has allowed me to gain an understanding of the ‘Twelve Truths of Relationships’ and in this book I will share the wisdom of my experience with you. The Twelve Truths of relationships don’t just apply to our romantic relationships. They also apply to our relationship with our parents, siblings, friends and even our relationship with our career, alcohol, or drugs.
Once a person understands what to look for, relationship watching can become a fascinating pastime. It’s almost like having X-ray glasses, we can see past the fog and into the bones of the relationship, gaining a deep understanding and some exciting insights!
This book takes what my work as a psychotherapist has taught me about human relationships, and offers those lessons to you, the reader. By far the most significant lesson I have learned is that this thing that we call ‘relationship’ actually means different things to different people. It took me some time to realise this, but once I did, it changed how I viewed all the relationships I could see when I looked around me.
