Condition - moderate to heavy age spotting and foxing, especially, as usual with teh preliminary pages. There is a small piece of tape residue to the centre of the inside front and rear cover, unclear from what, as the book has no jacket.The endpages are a sepckled yellow design. No author name on the cover or spine, rather unusually. , lettered in gilt on the both. No publisher name on spine, solid enough in green cloth, rubbed and edgeworn at head and tail of spine, both slightly frayed. Gilt gfinish to page block ends.
Stoker, obviously best known for Dracula, published this successful collection in 1881. This is the first illustrated edition from the following year.
Dedicated to his son, a collection of children's fantasy stories set in a magical land called the Land Under the Sunset which is located beyond the horizon (hence the title)
