A hardcover guide, published in this version 1939,( originally published in the 1920's) published by Guinness , contains a history of the company, , history of the brewery premises, statistics, stout, and a section of b&w images of the brewing process and images of the ( large) brewing facility in Saint James's Gate. Interestingly, there is also a chapter entitled The Brewery and Social service , detailing the process whereby Guinness looked to care and provide for workers with housing, medical care and, uncommon at the time - paid holidays.
Used. Hardback. Sections include: Introduction, History, The Brewery today, Statistics, Stout - Guinnes as a Beverage and Medicinal Adjunct, The Brewing Process, Social Service and Pictorial section. The pictorial section has 34 sepia photogravure plates, in addition to the 7 plates that have already appeared in the earlier part of the book and the final page is printed in colour with the label that was applied to bottles of Guinness's Extra Stout.
