Used - Good. 1st Edition, 344 pages, profusely illustrated in colour and b&w throughout. Navy covers with gilt titke on spine. An unusual book by James Fisher - a pot-pourri of bird history, their place in literature, music and art, lives of past ornithologists, bird-song, naming of birds. More of a history of birds and their place in the natural world than a standard bird guide' - although it also functions as a guide.
Not ex library, not marked internally, there is tanning to the page block and tanning to the edges of the dustjacket. There is a scratch line to the front dustjacket, and a small area of paper loss, covers underneath unaffected.
