Hardcover, presumed first edition, 1918 ( but Phoenix/ Talbot publishing were notoriously bad for putting dates of publication on reprint on their titles, meaning this could also be a subsequent (uncredited) reprint.
In the original slightly faded green cloth, titles in (similarly faded) gilt to spine, original cameo motif on the front covers also in gilt (showing a combined Round Tower, graveyard etc) Shamrock motif on spine also. Publisher's dark blue tint to upper page block ends.
Published almost 40 years after the originals ( volume 1 and 2) this is the third and final volume ( but like the other two volumes, also works as a standalone book. This is an alphabetical listing of thousands of Irish placenames, giving their meaning, notes on interpretations etc, and in almost all cases, refers back to the original Irish .
